Brussels - Ukraine has asked Russia's Gazprom to once again move back the deadline for the payment of $2.7 billion in arrears for last autumn's natural gas supplies, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.

Putin, who was speaking during a news conference in Brussels after a European Union-Russia summit, also said Ukraine had asked for an installment scheme for payments for 2014 supplies of gas, which Russia is selling the neighboring country at a reduced price.
